Websites!!!

When I first started out in the buisness I asked everyone that I met questions, who's your agent? What's a good site? Where do you take classes?

Everyone was super helpful and always offered advice and encouragement. Many of them gave me lists of the best websites to go to for casting information. Here are some of my favourites with discriptions.

My favourite!! Has union and non-union gigs from all over the world. Plus crew positions and casting director pages. Free to sign up for and full of advice!

Go to their auditions page. It has tons of casting info for the GTA and is also full of sound acting advice.

You can sign up for a free email notification that will send casting notices to you. Also full of acting advice.

Has a section for acting gigs.
I know it sounds sketch and sometimes it is, so be careful who you trust. I've had auditions off
this site were I ended up in some dingy apartment being asked to take my clothes off for a camcorder. If you are uncomfortable with a situation, just leave politely, always bring a cell phone and tell the "Auditioner" that your boyfriend/girlfriend is outside waiting for you ( even if you don't have one) always tell a friend or family member ( this goes for any audition ever really) where and how long you will be.

On the flip side, some of the best auditions and most creative people that I've met have been off this site. I one time did audition in some dingy apartment and ended up being cast in a movie that was being filmed in Canada and India, while I didn't get to travel with the cast ( my part was strictly in Canada) I got to meet some really cool people and talk with the Bollywood world.

Is the MUST HAVE acting resource for Canadian actors. While it does cost a small fee 80.00 yearly, it is the site that all big name casting directors go to. You can sign up with or without an agent, however there are some auditions that you will only be able to be submitted to if you have an agent.
